Admissions and Qualifications Criteria

General Requirements

  1. Must be 21 years of age at the time of graduation in order to meet Interstate requirements, and 18 years of age at start of the program for Intrastate requirements.
  2. Must possess a valid driver's license.
  3. Must be able to read and speak the English language.
  4. Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination.
  5. Must be able to pass a drug screen test.
  6. Must have a High School Diploma (or) demonstrate the ability to benefit from training.

Note:Items bolded are Federal DOT Requirements!

Traffic Requirements

  1. No alcohol or drug related violations (DUI/DWI) in a motor vehicle in the last three years.
  2. No more than three moving violations in the last three years.
  3. No more than one at-fault accident in the past year.

Civil Requirements

  1. Felony criminal record is subject to review.
  2. Not currently on parole or restricted probation.
  3. Misdemeanor criminal record is subject to review.
